We were called to a Tampa area condo late last night by a property manager. The call came from a neighbor to the flooded unit in regards to water seeping out of the front door. As it turns out, we used our infrared water leak detection equipment to locate a water leak in the wall behind the washing machine. The water leak was not very big and over the course of a few days ended up completely flooding the unit. Upon arrival at this Tampa condo we immediately turned off the water and contacted a Tampa Plumber for plumbing repair services. We extracted over 100 gallons of water from the carpet in the living areas before placing state of the art water dry out equipment in the unit.
If you are a property manager, or own a vacant property in the Tampa, Clearwater or surrounding areas we recommend shutting off the water to the unit to prevent such water damage disasters. Had someone been occupying this unit, the water damage would have been contained days ago and could have been easily treated. Because of the level of water saturation, it will take roughly 5 days to completely dry this water damaged unit.
