A Tampa homeowner called us in regards to water showing up in the closet behind a bathroom shower. At first the Tampa homeowner thought it may have been due to their kids overfilling the bath tub. With the use of our ultrasonic and infrared leak detection equipment we were able to locate a pipe leak on a plumbing line in the wall behind the shower. The pipe leak was located where copper meets PVC pipe. If PVC plastic pipe fittings are secured too tightly onto metal plumbing pipe, it will strip the threads and cause a water leak. Leaking water can lead to water damage and mold growth if not attended to as soon as you see the signs of a water leak.
